The Saisies ski area distinguishes between two types of skiing: downhill skiing and cross-country skiing.

The Saisies resort has nearly 70km (45 mi) of marked runs for downhill skiing, which includes runs for children and beginners as well as runs that go through alpine pastures and forests for the more experienced skier. Les Saisies is right to boast about its favourable weather conditions because it has one of the greatest snow covers in the Alps for a resort with this altitude (1650m).

Cross-country skiing

The Les Saisies resort also has a large cross-country ski area which has been in the spotlight since it hosted the Nordic skiing events (cross-country and biathlon) during the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics.
With an altitude ranging from 1600m to 1700m, the 140km (87mi) of cross-country trails at Les Saisies are amongst the highest in Europe and have excellent snow cover.
The cross-country ski area in Les Saisies is as ideal for athletic skiing as it is for more tranquil skiing, with trails going through forests and along exceptional plateaus, all of which enable to take in the splendour of the Mont Blanc Massif.

Located half-way between the Beaufortain and Arly valleys, the Espace Diamant ski area connects to 7 village resorts:  Les Saisies, Hauteluce, Bisanne 1 500, Notre-Dame de Bellecombe, Crest-Voland Cohennoz, Praz sur Arly and Flumet.
